The year was 1976 and Americans everywhere were celebrating the Bicentennial of the greatest nation on earth. Hot dogs at the ball park were a $1-the price of a ticket to a first run motion picture was $2.50-popcorn was 25 cents-a gallon of gas was 45 cents.

The media was ablaze with applause for our Founding Fathers-at that point we displayed the audacity to ask the now prophetic question: "What about the Founding Mothers?" That simple but appropriate observation generated a campaign to create a system which allowed the married women to participate in a competition which didn't exist for them.

Sadly, no pageant system allowed the married women the right of entry. Miss America-Miss USA-Miss Universe all "Missed the Point!". It was as if once the sixty million women said "I do" all of the other Pageants said "Sorry, you can't". That call to action launched the Mrs. America and now, along with Mrs. World we are the largest pageant system in our genre in the world.

Welcome to Mrs. New Hampshire America, New Hampshire's premire celebration of it's Greatest Natural Resource, it's married women. We are proud to be a member of the Mrs. America Family, the premire national pageant for married women, often immitated but never duplicated. Each year a new Mrs. New Hampshire America is crowned and will make personal appearances throughout the state during her year long reign and she will represent her home state at the Mrs. America pageant.

2010 Mrs. America State Delegates

Mrs. America is a prime time television special featuring the most accomplished married women of America. Each year, 51 delegates (all U.S. states plus the District of Columbia) compete for the coveted title. Imitated, but never duplicated, Mrs. America remains the first, and still the foremost competition for married women! This renowned national competition is devoted to emphasizing that America's 60 million maried women are extraordinarily beautiful, poised, articulate and versatile.

Each of the 51 contestants - ranging in age from the 20's to 50's- earns the right to participate in the national event by winning her state competition. These states events are under the direction of Mrs. America State Directors, a network of respected and talented community and business leaders reflecting on the largest systems of its genre in the world. Their efforts over the past 4 decades continues as a year-long watershed effort to discover the most accomplished married women qualified to compete for the esteemed title.

Each year the new Mrs. America will make appearances throughout the country during her year long reign, speaking to and for our country's Greatest Natural Resource and most important constituency--its married women. The new Mrs. America will also represent the United States at the Mrs. World Pageant.

The Mrs. New Hampshire America Pageant showcases New Hampshire's most accomplished and beautiful married women and is the official New Hampshire preliminary to the Mrs. America Pageant.

Join us for the fun and compete for the title. All delegates chosen to compete in the state pageant will be awarded a local title based on the town, city, county or area of her residence. Delegates will hold their local title until the state pageant in January 2012 and are encouraged to promote their titles by making appearances in their local areas and supporting causes of their choice.
