Mrs. New Hampshire America FAQs
As it's following continues to grow every year, Mrs. America attracts increasing numbers of women of all ages, vocations, and backgrounds. The variety of women the pageant attracts is hardly surprising. There are auto mechanics and airline pilots, doctors and lawyers, aspiring models and actresses, singers, wives and mothers, as well as traditional homemakers. The one thing they all have in common is that they are married and have an eagerness to compete.
There is no height requirement to enter or win. Our state finalists have ranged in heights from 4'8" to 6'2".
No. Having children is not one of the basic requirements for entry. Several winners at the local and national levels haven't had children.
The judges are looking for a beautiful, well rounded, articulate woman. They are not asked to focus on age or length of marriage. The Mrs. New Hampshire America Pageant Delegates have ranged in age from 20-50.
No. Physical Fitness is important but contestants are judged in four (4) categories:
Personality & Poise
Beauty
Swimsuit
Evening Gown
No. We here at the Mrs. New Hampshire Pageant believe that being married is talent enough.
WILL I BE JUDGED ON COMMUNITY SERVICE?
No. Realistically most married women are extremely busy with their careers and children; they are contributing to the community by virtue of serving their own families. While community service is stressed during the Mrs. New Hampshire reign there is no emphasis on community service in the actual pageant competition.
Yes. We encourage our town, city and county titleholders to raise the entry fee in their communities. After all they have been exclusively selected to represent all of the married women in their areas. Space is provided in the official program book to recognize your supporters.
Each delegate will be required to bring her opening number outfit (for 2011 TBD), interview outfit, swimsuit and gown. It is not necessary to spend a fortune on your competition wardrobe. It is more important to select outfits that make you feel confident, that best suit your body type and personality. Each year the personal choice of gowns can span from simple without beads to fully beaded. It is never the gown the judges are scoring; it’s the woman wearing it.
Yes, it truly depends on the individual. Every one is given a fair opportunity to win!
How much time each delegate takes to prepare for the pageant is her choice. For the actual pageant, the Mrs. New Hampshire pageant is a one day event. Delegates arrive on the day of the pageant and experience a day filled with rehearsals, lunch, interview with the judges, group photo and the exciting on-stage competition which will culminate in the crowning of a new Mrs. New Hampshire America.
If not feel free to give us a call or send us an e-mail, the Mrs. New Hampshire America staff welcomes all inquiries and remember, there is no such thing as a silly question, only the question that is not asked!
